Keep Portland Weird*
When Target wanted to expand their urban concept into Portland, they needed a way to create buzz. The kind of buzz the average Portlander would embrace… so we invited the city to share what makes Portland weird. And wonderful.
Using Instagram, we asked Portlanders to tell us and show us what they thought was most representative of their town. We then shared the ideas with the local artistic duo, Rather Severe. For 13 days the city watched as the 70′ x 8′ window mural took shape. In the end, Target had joined a community and Portland had a Target that lived up to their weird standards.
